What You Should Know

Most diseases that travelers experience or bring back with them are preventable by getting vaccinated before travel. Other illnesses – including malaria and traveler's diarrhea – can be avoided by taking medications and following safe practices while traveling.

Insurance plans may cover varying amounts of the costs associated with travel immunizations and some plans do not include that coverage at all. A financial counselor is available to answer insurance coverage-related questions.

The cost of this service depends largely on where you are traveling, so the amount you will pay is hard to predict. Our pricing is competitive with other travel clinics in Omaha. You can inquire about costs over the phone or during your consultation.

Some immunizations are given in a series over several weeks or months. People with certain health conditions such as immune system problems may have different immunization recommendations than otherwise healthy people.

Please should make an appointment four to six weeks prior to departure. Most vaccines take time to become effective, and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of weeks or months. If it is less than four weeks before you leave, we are available to help the last-minute traveler prepare for international travel with adjusted vaccine schedules, medications and/or travel tips to stay safe.
