The UCSF Center for Excellence in Transgender Health

The UCSF’s website offers information routine care, HIV prevention, cultural competency and mental health for trans people and professionals who work with trans people. Also included are the UCSF Primary Care Protocols for Transgender Care - a detailed, evidence based set of guidelines for comprehensive care of transgender patients. 


The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH)

WPATH’s website has a provider and referrals directory, the WPATH Standards of Care (guidelines for health care providers and insurers on trans health issues), and more.The WPATH Standards of Care are subject to revision when new medical evidence supports relevant changes. UNO Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic

The UNO Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic offers vocal training for transgender people to assist them in modifying their voices and speaking styles to more closely align with their affirmed gender. As part of the programs community engagement the speech-language pathology program offers sessions that may vary in timing and space and that follow academic calendars. The Transgender Law Center’s website has information on the legal aspects of transitioning and trans life, including ID change, employment, health care, safe schools, safe bathrooms, and more.

This guide is a community resource for FTM trans people that includes helpful tips on surgery, transitioning, presenting as male, and other information. 


Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline works to end transgender suicide and improve overall mental health of transgender people through education, advocacy, and direct service.


The Transsexual Roadmap

The Transsexual Roadmap website is a male-to female (MTF) oriented resource that provides advice, resources and support from and for the MTF community on a range of topics, including the physical and emotional aspects of transitioning, name changes, coming out, workplace issues, and issues for young trans women.


The Transitional Male

The Transitional Male is an independently owned resource for female to male (FTM) trans people, their families, partners and friends and includes community contributions and personal essays.


The Trevor Project

A national 24-hour, toll free confidential suicide hotline for gay and questioning youth.

GLSEN

GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. We believe that such an atmosphere engenders a positive sense of self, which is the basis of educational achievement and personal growth. Since homophobia and heterosexism undermine a healthy school climate, we work to educate teachers, students and the public at large about the damaging effects these forces have on youth and adults alike.

  • Day of Silence - GLSEN's Day of Silence is a student-led national event organized in thousands of schools, bringing awareness to the silencing effects of anti-LGBTQ name-calling.

Open Arms Trans Social Group - Omaha

The Open Arms Trans Social Group’s mission is to provide a safe and welcoming space for transgender youth, children, their friends, and their families. Proud Horizons Youth Group - Omaha

Proud Horizons is a youth group specifically for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight ally youth ages 13 to 23.

PFLAG Omaha

PFLAG offers support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ. Services include: Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ. Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBQ.

River City Gender Alliance (RCGA) is an Omaha based, tax-exempt 501(c)(3), all-inclusive support organization that provides peer support, friendship and understanding for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. RCGA also seeks to further transgender acceptance through education, outreach and being socially active in the greater community.


Families of Gender Expansive Youth - Omaha

A support group for parents and caregivers raising gender expansive youth.
