Dr. Geelan-Hansen

Katie Geelan-Hansen, MD

Dr. Geelan-Hansen completed her Otolaryngology residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and she is fellowship-trained in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She offers transgender facial surgery at Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Lauritzen Outpatient Center.

Dr. Heckman is a board certified facial plastic surgeon who offers transgender facial surgery at Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Village Pointe Health Center.

 


Behavioral Health

Megan Smith-Sallans, MS, LIMHP, LIPC

Thomas Magnuson, MD

Dr. Magnuson is a psychiatrist trained at UNMC who is board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry. He has worked across campus providing care for neurology, psychiatry and internal medicine patients. In addition, he has a developed a telepsychiatry network across the state involving over 80 community sites. Dr. Magnuson is excited to now be part of the transgender clinic due to both the need for mental health care in this patient population as well as the opportunity to work with Dr. Amoura and her outstanding team.

Dr. Jerry Walker

Jerry Walker, PhD

Dr. Jerry Walker is a clinical psychologist, board-certified in counseling psychology. He worked with the United States Air Force for seven years before coming to Nebraska Medicine in 2019. Dr. Walker is a proud ally and has worked with members of the LGBTQ+ community since 2010. He conducts pre-procedural psychological evaluations for individuals seeking gender-affirming treatments and advocates on their behalf. Dr. Walker offers both in-person and telehealth appointments to individuals referred from the Nebraska Medicine Transgender Care team.

Madeline West, MD

Madeline West, MD

Dr. West specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is interested in cultural psychiatry and outreach to various communities, including the transgender community. She received her degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Alison DeLizza, PhD

Alison DeLizza, PhD

Dr. DeLizza is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Psychologist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her PhD at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI and her doctoral internship at the Munroe Meyer Institute. She specializes in treating adolescents with anxiety and depression using behavioral interventions and working with LGBTQ youth and families. She is the Co-Chair of the Department of Psychiatry Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and is the Director of DEI for the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska.

Laura Schutte-Lundy

Laura Schutte-Lundy, LIMHP, LADC

Laura has worked as a therapist in Omaha since 2013. She was employed at a residential treatment facility where she worked with at-risk youth with co-occurring diagnosis. She served as an intensive outpatient and outpatient therapist within the community, working with adults that have co-occurring diagnosis. Laura started working with Nebraska Medicine in 2019 as a Psychiatric Behavioral Health Therapist in the Child Outpatient department. She provides treatment for adolescents with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, substance use and LGBTQIA youth/families by using behavioral interventions.

Laura is the Co-Chair of the Psychiatry Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee, and is the volunteer/social coordinator for the LGBTQIA committee.


Voice Affirming Services

Dr. Bingcang is board certified in Otolaryngology and completed fellowship training in laryngology and professional voice from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. Dr. Bingcang aims to compassionately provide gender affirming voice care.

Jayme Dowdall, MD

Dr. Dowdall (she/her) received her medical degree from Boston University and is board certified in Otolaryngology with fellowship training in laryngology and professional voice. She provides gender affirming voice care and researches how sex and gender may relate to voice, sleep apnea, intubation and disorders of the airway. She is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Amber Koch

Amber Koch, MS CCC-SLP

Amber Koch is a certified speech/language pathologist with specialization in voice and upper airway disorders. Amber offers gender affirming voice services at Lauritzen Outpatient Center and Village Pointe.  She graduated with her master’s in 2012 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in rehabilitative outpatient speech/language pathology prior to joining Nebraska Medicine’s otolaryngology team. Call 402.559.5208 to schedule an appointment with her.
