100 hospitals and health systems with great heart programs
Nebraska Medicine was selected for this honor by Becker’s Hospital Review for its outstanding heart and vascular care, superior patient outcomes, and advanced technologies. From treating congenital conditions like adult congenital heart disease to complex interventional, electrophysiology, cardiac, and vascular surgical procedures, Nebraska Medicine utilizes the latest technology to care for heart and vascular patients. As the only heart transplant program in the state, Nebraska Medicine has performed more than 500 heart transplants. In addition, the system has performed 1,000 transcatheter aortic valve replacements, including the new trans-carotid approach. The heart failure program offers advanced treatments, including the implantation of the first cardiac contractility modulation devices. The electrophysiology team was the first in an eight-state region to perform a pulse field ablation procedure to treat atrial fibrillation and has recently surpassed 500 left atrial appendage occlusion procedures.
“These recognitions mean even more to those of us who know the people who make these programs successful,” says Jim Linder, MD, CEO and Chair of the Nebraska Medicine Board of Directors. “Seeing Nebraska Medicine programs on these prestigious lists is a credit to every colleague in the health system and serves as a reminder to our patients that they are in excellent hands when they choose to receive care at a Nebraska Medicine facility.”
