We use state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including mammography, ultrasound and MRI to diagnose and direct treatment of a variety of conditions specifically affecting women. Our doctors are also trained to detect cancer in early stages, when treatment is typically most effective.

Our board-certified specialists in women’s imaging are experts in detecting and diagnosing conditions specific to women. Early detection of breast cancer is one of our most important services. We use digital mammography, ultrasound and MRI to pinpoint tumors and reliably diagnose breast cancer.

Our interventional radiologists are also on the forefront of new techniques and technologies associated with medical conditions specific to women. We are able to treat many disorders with minimally invasively procedures, eliminating the need for surgery.

Women choose Nebraska Medicine - Radiology for regular health screenings largely because they receive personalized service. We are committed to treating patients referred to us with care and sensitivity.

We recognize that a diagnosis of cancer or even the possibility of cancer may be extremely stressful to patients. Our physicians and staff understand these concerns. Our sensitivity includes providing timely results to minimize the anxiety associated with any uncertain situation.

Specialized Women's Imaging and Treatment

Women’s health requires special and judicious use of imaging technology. We have the expertise to utilize the most advanced imaging technology available to provide reliable diagnoses. New techniques in interventional radiology may also eliminate the need for surgery.

Breast Imaging

Digital mammography allows our breast imaging specialists to see breast tissue more clearly. It is our most frequently used imaging tool for early detection of cancer. When necessary, we use ultrasound and MRI to further investigate findings on digital mammography and deliver reliable diagnoses. Utilizing these tools, we can detect cancer at earlier stages, potentially saving lives and saving women from intensive and sometimes disfiguring treatment.

Pelvic Procedures

Ongoing advances in interventional radiology give us the ability to  treat an ever-increasing number of pelvic conditions with minimally invasive procedures. Our fellowship trained interventional radiologists treat such conditions as uterine fibroids and pelvic congestion. In many cases, patients may resume normal activities symptom-free without the need for surgery.
