Experiencing shortness of breath?

It’s a common complaint that can be caused by many reasons. But when breathing problems persist and get worse with exertion, it could be a symptom of something more serious such as pulmonary hypertension.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is elevated blood pressure in the lungs. Each form of PH is different, so it is important to find a specialist who can pinpoint the cause and develop a treatment plan that is customized and appropriate. Nebraska Medicine has some of the top pulmonary medicine specialists in the area.

What to expect

We prepare for your visit before you actually come in for your appointment. We receive and review all of the related medical records from your referring provider. During your first visit, we talk about your symptoms, and review and explain any previous test results. We will then discuss the next steps. The care plan usually includes further comprehensive testing and discussions about treatment options.
