In the first several weeks after transplant, your child will be seen weekly. Blood tests will be done twice a week to check kidney function, monitor medication levels and detect any complications. Visits and lab schedules will be adjusted based on your child’s status.
If you do not live in the Omaha metro area, we can help you make arrangements for a long-term stay. The transplant team will discuss the follow-up care process with you and your child’s referring doctor prior to the transplant.
