Using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to treat depression
A fighting spirit and the will to not give up led two patients to Nebraska Medicine to help treat their depression.
Cheryl Adamson began experiencing serious depression in 1996. Beverly Fleckten had been battling bouts of depression for the past 13 years.
Both tried multiple prescribed medications to treat their depression, but when those weren't working, each of them was referred to the Nebraska Medicine Interventional Psychiatry program. Fleckten and Adamson each went through transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a noninvasive treatment.
