Where can someone with an eating disorder go for help?

I currently see patients with eating disorders. This is a population of people that I have been involved with since 2011 when I was a faculty member at the University of Michigan. Patients usually start at their primary care provider to ensure that there no urgent medical issues that need attention first. After that, they can call 402.552.6007 and request me. I have experience working with kids 8 years old to middle-aged adults. 

I am involved with the Nebraska Eating Disorders Network and serve as the physician advisor for their board of directors. We can usually figure out where people need to go. Occasionally, people with eating disorders need a higher level of care, and we may direct an individual to attend a residential level program.
