Leaders promoted to vice president positions in finance, facilities
As of July 6, three familiar faces at Nebraska Medicine received new titles, which are reflective of an increase in responsibilities and their valuable contributions and strategic input as part of the senior leadership team.
Jana Danielson, who previously held the executive director role in Revenue Cycle, is now vice president, Revenue Cycle. Danielson has been with Nebraska Medicine since February of 2004, serving in various leadership roles within Revenue Cycle throughout her career. She continues to report to Chief Financial Officer Stephanie Daubert.
Geri Schmid, who has served as executive director, Payer Relations/Managed Care Contracting, became vice president of Payer Strategy. Schmid started at Nebraska Medicine in March of 2004, first serving as the director of Revenue Cycle for UNMC Physicians. Schmid also reports to Daubert.
“We have planned to elevate these positions to vice president level for quite some time, says Daubert. “The scope and accountability of these roles are strategically important to the health system, and as vice presidents, Geri and Jana will both be collaborative contributors to our senior leadership team. We are fortunate to have such talented individuals here and able to fill these roles.”
Jennifer Bartholomew is now vice president of Facilities Management. She has worked for Nebraska Medicine since 2013 and previously served as executive director of Facilities Management. Bartholomew leads Nebraska Medicine facilities operations, planning and construction. She also manages the relationship with Sodexo and Environmental Services and leads facilities planning for UNMC. Bartholomew reports to Executive Vice President – Chief Operating Officer Cory Shaw.
Ken Hansen continues his role as associate vice chancellor of Campus Facilities for UNMC and UNO. He will continue to provide leadership over facilities of UNMC and UNO and utility plant operations supporting Nebraska Medicine. He is also responsible for leading energy operations, integration of UNMC and UNO campus facilities and partnerships with the city of Omaha. Together these two leaders are accountable for ensuring the seamless integration of all facility operations for UNMC, UNO and Nebraska Medicine.
“As a leader of Facilities, Jen has had a major impact on Nebraska Medicine and UNMC over the past several years,” says Shaw. “She’s led the planning and execution of many transformational projects including the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, the Davis Global Center and the Integrated Service Center. Together, she and Ken will be instrumental in developing and executing a facilities strategy to support the clinical and academic mission for the next decade.”
